How the Insurer handles auto theft
Posted on September 24, 2008 in Auto Insurance by admin

Have you been a victim of car theft? Having your car stolen will bring a sick feeling to your stomach. How will the Insurer handle claims relating to auto theft? Basically, if you have comprehensive coverage on your policy, this type of loss will be covered. If the one who steals the car ends up crashing into another vehicle, you will not be held liable since the damages were caused by a ‘non-permissive driver’.

The other drivers vehicle will only be covered under any “uninsured motorist” coverage, if they have it. Having “uninsured motorist” added to your policy will protect you from these types of unfortunate events. Uninsured motorist will also financially protect you from hit and run violators. This crime has grown more common in recent years.
