Sometimes we come across stories of Greedy Agents who actually think they can get away with selling fake insurance so they can keep the full premium. What are these people thinking? Recent news indicates such a case where Paul Daniel Cornejo, 29, a California licensed Broker was arrested at his home residence in Adelanto, California. Cornejo was arrested on four counts of Grand Theft, three counts of Forgery, two counts of Theft by False Pretense and finally three misdemeanor counts of Theft.

Now booked into San Bernardino’s county jail, Cornejo’s bail is set at $400,000. At this time his arraignment is pending.
Between April of 2008 and March of 2010 authorities received several complaints from victims who stated that Cornejo collected premium payments from long distance trucking companies. Instead of turning over the funds to the insurance companies this guy would simply pocket the funds and provide these companies with fake certificates of insurance. Sadly these companies were never protected. Currently victim losses are approximately $38,000.

Cornejo did business, in San Bernardino and Riverside Counties, as Royal Insurance Group Services, Inc and TATEMAS Truck Insurance Services.
